Florencia's passion for authentic Argentine cooking began at age four in her grandmother's kitchen in La Plata, just outside Buenos Aires. Growing up in a family of six children, weekend gatherings centered around food, with Florencia learning traditional recipes and techniques alongside her beloved grandmother. Inspired by these cherished memories, Florencia pursued her culinary dreams professionally, earning degrees in pastry and advanced pastry before leaving her embassy position to become a full-time pastry chef specializing in wedding cakes and special events. "When you cook, you put so much of yourself and so much love into the food," Florencia shares. "It's such a beautiful bonding experience to give to someone." Now she brings that same warmth and expertise to her Buenos Aires cooking classes, sharing the flavors and stories of her Argentine heritage with travelers seeking authentic culinary experiences. Florencia lives with her husband Patricio in his childhood building in Buenos Aires—his parents still live in the same building! Patricio's love of food runs deep, and Florencia jokes that's exactly why he married her.

Great cooking and conversation. There were two couples in our group and we were welcomed warming by Florencia upon arrival in her attractive apartment and wonderful kitchen. We quickly doned aprons and got to work, first making empanada dough and then filling the empanadas. We all appreciated how Flor demonstrated different techniques and then mentored us as we did our pastry work. Flor is an excellent teacher and fun to be with, which made for a great evening. We would all recommend Flor's class as a wonderful introduction to some of Argentina's best foods--empanadas and alfajores.- MaryL64 February 21, 2020
Learning to make empanadas, alfajores and moroc (peanut butter chocolate"fudge") with Flor was a perfect way to spend some time in Buenos Aires! Flor was wonderful! Knowledgeable, patient, kind. She made me feel welcome and comfortable in her home. I can't wait to share her...More- Stephanie S July 27, 2019
We had a good time cooking with Florencia. We made empanadas (she premade the filling, we made the dough and put them together), alfajores and another treat (similar to fudge). As someone who is pretty experienced in the kitchen, I did not learn a lot about cooking, but really enjoyed chatting with Florencia. It was interesting to hear from a native Argentinian. If you are looking to do a lot of cooking or eat a really full meal, this might not be the best class for you, but if you are looking for a fun afternoon while doing some light cooking, this class is great!- WolozGoes June 07, 2019
Hands down on of the best experiences we had in Buenos Aires. Florencia was an amazing teacher and host and took our booking on short notice. She welcomed us into her home and offered us such great hands on instruction for making empanadas(we made traditional beef and hard boiled egg), marroc and alfajores. From the time we arrived til the time we finished we felt so comfortable and at ease, like we had known her forever. The best part is you get to enjoy the labor of your cooking! Amazing company, great learning and experience. Take the class, don’t think twice, you won’t regret it.- Epilepticennui April 02, 2019
We enjoyed a cooking class with Flor during our trip to Buenos Aires and it was a highlight of the trip! Communication with Flor was excellent (we corresponded through WhatsApp after I booked). Flor greeted us in her apartment with a smile and hugs. She was excellent with our kids, aged 7 and 3, incorporating them into all aspects of the food preparation (though, of course, maintaining proper safety). We made empanadas, alfajores, and maroc (traditional chocolate peanut butter fudge). Flor showed us how to make the empanada dough, roll it out, fill it, and fold it correctly. In addition, we requested that we try mate as well and she gladly obliged -- and taught us about how to prepare and drink it. She also told us about life in Buenos Aires as well as her fascinating experiences visiting the U.S.Flor gave us a packet of recipes and we have made several of these items several times. Our friends in the U.S. have been very impressed. We came just curious about how to make empanadas and other Argentinian food; we left as friends. I can't recommend this class enough.- joshdouglas March 24, 2019
Florencia was very accomodating of my last minute request. Spending the afternoon with her, cooking and baking, was like spending time with a friend. She was informative and thoughtful and answered my many questions :) I will, without a doubt, be making the recipes again at home. I wouldn't hesitate to book with her again if I were to return to Buenos Aires.Muchas gracias Florencia!!!- Cathy R November 16, 2018
