I loved my cooking experience with Min! We made so many yummy dishes and I really got a feel for the main local ingredients. Min explained each step well and answered all of my questions. There was a bounty of vegetarian dishes Min made accommodations for me. I absolutely loved cooking over the water and boar ride to and from my hotel on the gorgeous lake. I highly recommend this experienced, extremely unique and a HUGE highlight of my time in Myanmar!

Pea is a pillar of her community. Her beautiful home and garden need more then a few hours to truly appreciate. It's magical. Her cooking space is perfect and her attention to detail and tradition taught us so much about Thai cooking. I would love to visit her again. We cooked and ate. She made us feel at home.

My husband and I had a wonderful time starting from the pick up at our hotel. Jah, Pea’s son, picked us up on time and and enriched our visit to the cooking school by sharing a bit about himself,his family, his city and more The ride to and from the cooking school with him was a very positive and informative part of our evening. Thanks, Jah! It is definitely worth taking a class from Pea. She is quite the teacher—-organized, passionate, and very accommodating. I eat meat. My husband is a pescatarian, and she managed to have food choices for both of us to cook and eat We spent time in her lovely garden and learned how to create our own recipes using Thai cooking principles of flavor and ingredients available to us. The food was delicious and we ate every bite! We have taken cooking classes in several other countries. This one was unique as Pea stressed home cooking and how to adapt it to our own family. I highly recommend taking a private class from Pea instead of a group class somewhere else The personalized attention is worth every bit of your time. . Thank you, Pea and Jah! The experience with Panphailin in Chiang Mai was exceptional from A to Z. Not only is she a phenomenal cook and owns her own beautiful cooking school and organic garden outside of Chiang Mai center, but she is also a warmhearted, funny and a welcoming person. She picked me up on time at my hotel and took me to a local market where she answered and encouraged all of my questions and explained the different local ingredients. Then she showed me around in her huge organic garden where she plants and harvests most of the vegetables she uses for her cooking. She let me try different plants and explained everything to me in perfect English. She is very patient and polite and always made sure I felt at home. She let me help her prepare the food, always explaining the details and I learned a lot. The cooking school is beautiful, clean and she even owns special traditional stoves where she cooked the meals. She makes sure to take into account your taste (spicy or not), your allergies and preferences. The food she cooked was just delicious, healthy and tasted amazing. I would recommend her to everybody who visits Chiang Mai for an extraordinary culinary and cultural experience.

We feel so lucky that we were able to spend a day with Nid and her family. Of our three week trip throughout SE Asia, this was certainly the highlight. Nid picked us up from our hotel at The Four Seasons Chiang Mai and we left this lovely little bubble for an authentic thai culinary adventure. First Nid took us to an amazing market - there wasn't a tourist in site. On the drive there it didn't take long to understand how passionate Nid is about Thai food and cooking. And we could already tell she is a lot of fun and that we were in for a great afternoon. Nid showed us around the market introducing us to produce and products we'd never seen before and together we decided what dishes we'd make based on what looked good and fresh and what appealed most to us. We sampled some of the most delicious sausage I've ever had and bought some fresh curries and produce. Then we hopped back in the car and headed to Nid's parents house. We spent the afternoon cooking on mats on the ground and in clay stoves. We made thai green curry (my husband's favorite), banana flower salad with pork, catfish salad (I don't eat fish but tried this and it was actually my favorite thing), papaya salad, and bananas cooked in coconut milk for dessert. We used a lot of fresh herbs and veggies from Nid's mom's garden as well and we ate the rice that they grow themselves. Everything was incredibly fresh and beautiful. Nid's mom worked with us and we loved how no-nonsense she is - she watched my husband's knife skills like a hawk since she likes it to be done just right - there was no 'tourist pass' which we appreciated. The food was amazing. We felt sad to leave at the end of the day and felt privileged to have had the opportunity to meet Nid and her family and spend the day in their home. I can't recommend highly enough. Nid is so passionate about what she does and she is such a talented chef, teacher, and just a lovely person to be around.
