Nico is a musician, composer, and educator with a passion for food and sharing Argentine culinary traditions. He comes from a family of Italian immigrants and learned to cook pasta with his mother and grandmother, preparing Sunday lunches that are as much about family as they are about food. His favorite dish is ravioli, and with Nico, you’ll learn both how to make pasta and its cultural significance—like why gnocchi is eaten on the 29th of each month. Nico lives in a simple apartment in Villa Ortuzar with his girlfriend Pilar, who may join the class, and is dedicated to creating a memorable, authentic Argentine food experience.

Cooking experience: (2-8 guests) Meet your host, Nico, at his cozy home in Villa Ortuzar and begin your hands-on Buenos Aires Italian cooking class with a glass of Argentine red wine. In Nico’s intimate kitchen, you’ll learn to prepare a starter and craft pasta with two types of fillings. Try making ravioli with homemade ricotta and basil in a sage butter, or braised meat with citrus in a classic tomato sauce, or explore other pasta varieties such as tonarelli alla carbonara, gnudi, cavatelli, or gnocchi. After cooking, enjoy your creations at the dining table, accompanied by two glasses of wine. For a special touch, you can choose the alcohol add-on and Nico will serve a premium bottle of Argentine wine, followed by a homemade dessert.
Notes: Nico hosts lunch experiences on weekends only as he works during the week. If you choose the alcohol add-on, Nico offers a premium bottle of Argentinian wine.

On Saturday we went to Nico and Pilar's home and we had an amazing time! The neighborhood is one of the latest cool places in Buenos Aires city. There are a lot of very cool restaurants and bars, and it's the place where young people are moving to, looking for less expensive accommodation that is also well connected to public transport. The building where they live is really interesting - 1920's construction with 40 small houses for families, each with their own terrace. Nico and Pilar were very welcoming and we had a really nice conversation during our experience. The house is cool - very Buenos Aires with lots of colors and stuff but clean. The class was easy to follow and the ingredients can be easily found. The food tasted great! It may not be fancy but going to this young couple's home with homey vibes gives you a chance to experience a taste of real Argentinian Italian cuisine and hospitality.

I travelled with my sister. We both had such a great time with Nico and Pilar! Nico is full of passion for cooking and loves sharing his story. He told us how he learned to make pasta from his Italian mother when he was just five years old, and you can really feel the love he puts into everything. We learned how to make traditional Argentine pasta from scratch, and the whole experience was very authentic and personal. Nico explained everything clearly and made it fun and easy to follow. Pilar was also lovely and made us feel right at home. It was more than just a cooking class—it felt like spending time with old friends. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy great food and learn about local culture in a warm and friendly setting!- Pauline July 17, 2025
