Young is a passionate Thai cook based in Nonthaburi, just outside Bangkok. A former prep and fry cook in the U.S., he returned to Thailand to attend culinary school and deepen his knowledge of regional Thai cuisines. Having traveled across the country tasting and studying local dishes, Young now invites guests into his home to discover flavors that date back over 500 years. His cooking classes go beyond familiar dishes like Pad Thai and Green Curry, offering an authentic journey through Thailand’s royal and regional food traditions.

In-home meal: (1-5 guests) Join Young in his dining room, which offers bright views of the garden, for a home-cooked Thai meal in Nonthaburi. You will enjoy 3 dishes such as royal citrus salad (yum som o), pineapple curry or northern Thai curry noodle soup (khao soi) and chicken salad (larb gai) or shrimp in sweet coconut chili sauce (yum tua plu). The menu is based on seasonally available ingredients. If you have any food allergies or preferences, please let Young know at the time of booking. The majority of dishes are served family-style along with jasmine rice and meant to be shared. Each dish will be beautifully presented with local herbs and flowers, so don’t forget to take pictures before you dig in!
Cooking experience: (1-4 guests) Join Young in his home kitchen in Nonthaburi for a hands-on Thai cooking experience. Learn to prepare authentic Thai dishes that locals enjoy every day. Working together as a team, each person will be given a few tasks, and together you will create dishes from scratch. Young will guide you through achieving the perfect balance of flavors, the foundation of Thai cuisine, while also sharing insights into the culinary traditions of different regions of Thailand. The class runs for about 1–2 hours, after which you’ll sit down to enjoy the fruits of your labor with a meal overlooking the garden.

2. Young can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, and pescatarian diets, so please let him know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions while booking online.
