An active food blogger and member of the Slow Food movement, Angelina is a fourth-generation professional cook and passionate about sharing traditional Greek recipes with travelers. Entirely self-taught, Angelina has over 25 years of experience cooking, writing for food magazines and newspapers, food-blogging and offering cooking classes. Angelina's interest in cooking was inspired by her grandmother and mother cooking in their Greek kitchen. She was brought up with a variety of food cooked fresh everyday and because she loves meeting people, she started to entertain guests. Angelina has studied sociology and communication, traveled around the world and it was during her time living in South Korea in the 90s that she first started offering Greek cooking classes. She hasn't stopped since and with her entertaining style makes each class a very pleasant experience.

You will start with ouzo, the traditional Greek aperitif and small plates of mezze (Greek appetizers) such as taramosalata, saganaki (a soft, fried cheese), tzatziki (yoghurt dip) or gigantes plaki (giant beans in a tomato sauce) or hand rolled dolmades and fresh bread followed by a Greek salad, a main dish such as a spanakopita (phyllo pastries) or whole fish or lamb and potatoes or garides saganaki (prawns in fresh tomato sauce with feta cheese) or chicken giouvetsi with orzo, or for vegetarians or vegans and upon request, revithada (a chickpea dish from the island of Sifnos, slow-cooked in a clay pot). For dessert, you will try an easy version of baklava with pistachios and walnuts.
Cooking experience: (2-20 guests) Experience the authentic flavors of Greece in a private, hands-on cooking class in the modern kitchen of your local host’s beautiful Athens home. Start with a traditional Greek welcome of meze and ouzo, featuring small plates such as gigandes (giant beans in tomato sauce), dolma, and fried saganaki cheese, while learning about Greek culture and the rituals of ouzo drinking. Join Angelina in the kitchen to prepare a traditional Greek meal, including a filo appetizer, fresh Greek salad, hearty main course, and a quick baklava dessert that you can easily recreate at home. Whenever possible, Angelina uses seasonal, organic produce to highlight fresh, local flavors. After about an hour of hands-on cooking, sit down to enjoy the authentic Greek meal you helped create, paired with Greek wine. This private Athens cooking class is an immersive culinary experience, ideal for travelers seeking authentic Greek cuisine, cultural insights, and engaging hands-on cooking lessons. Angelina is happy to accommodate lactose-free, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan diets in your Athens cooking class; please let her know of any dietary restrictions when booking.

The minute I walked into Angelina's flat I felt I was at a friend's place, over for lunch. A friend I hadn't seen for a long time. We conversed pretty much about everything, dreams and plans, food and travels. It felt right. Along with a glass of wine (served at just the right temperature), that's what great food does, it sets free your tongue!

I went to Greece with my family for 11 days and I would say that this experience was beyond top of my experiences that I hadthere. It was my first time going to Greece and I was excited to do a cooking class, but just the warmth that Angie brought with husband and the delicious food made the experience 10 times better if I could go back to Greece just to do the cooking class again with that food I would 1000% do it- deb June 01, 2026
We had an absolutely unforgettable experience and cannot recommend this family enough. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed not as tourists, but as guests in their home. Their warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality immediately made us feel comfortable and connected to the experience. What made this so special was the authenticity. This was not simply a cooking class. It was an opportunity to learn about family traditions, local culture, regional ingredients, and the passion behind every dish. Every step of the process was explained with care, patience, and enthusiasm, allowing us to truly understand not only how to prepare the food, but why these recipes matter. The food was exceptional. Every dish reflected generations of knowledge, incredible ingredients, and a deep respect for tradition. Some of the best meals of our entire trip came from this experience, and being able to participate in creating them made it even more meaningful. As passionate home cooks, we especially appreciated the level of detail and instruction. No question was too small. Every technique was demonstrated thoughtfully, and every lesson was delivered with patience and genuine excitement for sharing their craft. Their knowledge, skill, and love for cooking were evident in every moment. Most importantly, this experience felt personal. We left with new culinary skills, a deeper appreciation for the region and its traditions, wonderful memories, and the feeling that we had spent time with friends rather than hosts. If you are looking for an authentic, welcoming, and truly memorable culinary experience, this is an absolute must. Thank you for sharing your home, your traditions, your stories, and your passion with us. It was one of the highlights of our trip and an experience we will remember for many years to come.- josh June 01, 2026
We did our class with Angelina and it was amazing. Angelina's husband picked us up at our Athens hotel and took us to their beautiful home in Athens. Once we arrived Angelina welcomed us and immediately connected with my wife on cooking and they set out on their adventure. Angelina had a number of dishes planned and my wife had so much fun preparing the meals with her. And the food was all absolutely delicious. My wife and I would do this again in a heartbeat if we come to Athens again. It was so much fun.- Y4679 December 06, 2023
What an amazing evening with Chef Angelina! We had a group of two families with adult children, and Chef Angelina hosted us at her beautiful home, with spectacular views of the sea and countryside. She had prepared some delicious appetizers; and then we all set to work in the kitchen and she taught us some modernized traditional Greek recipes, and everyone participated to prepare a fantastic meal. Angelina is a very capable chef, an excellent teacher, an entertaining storyteller, and a gracious host. This interactive cooking lesson was absolutely the highlight of our trip, and an shared experience our families will always cherish.- Eric_S July 03, 2023
