Meet Ana and Carina (Shared)

In Lisbon, where sunlit streets carry the aroma of spices, two friends found their calling in the kitchen. Meet Ana and Carina, professional chefs who share a deep love for Portuguese cuisine, culture, and tradition. Both trained at the ACPP - Portuguese Association of Professional Cooks and have worked in traditional Lisbon restaurants, building a strong foundation in authentic regional cooking. Drawn to teaching, they now host hands-on cooking classes for both locals and travelers. For Ana and Carina, the magic happens when guests cook side by side - sharing stories, techniques, and laughter. What begins as a class becomes a meaningful cultural exchange, where strangers connect over food and leave feeling like part of the family.

What to expect

Please note menu might vary. If there are particular dishes you are interested in trying, please include your request in the booking form.

Cooking experience: (2-10 guests) Join a small group cooking class in Lisbon and discover authentic Portuguese cuisine in a relaxed, hands-on setting. Your experience begins with a tasting of local cheese, chorizo, and wine - a perfect introduction to the flavors of a traditional Portuguese meal. During this 2.5-hour Lisbon cooking class and meal experience, learn to prepare a starter, main course, and dessert from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients, many from their own farm. Guided by expert chefs, you’ll learn traditional techniques and uncover culinary secrets passed down through generations. Menus may vary slightly based on seasonal availability to ensure the best ingredients and flavors. As you cook, hear the stories behind each dish and gain insight into Portugal’s rich culinary heritage. End your experience by sitting down together to enjoy the delicious home-cooked meal you helped create - a true taste of Lisbon’s food and culture.

Market visit: (2-10 guests) Begin your guided Lisbon market tour with a visit to the local market in Algés, where you’ll explore the vibrant colors and aromas of fresh, seasonal produce. Ana and Carina will show you how to select the best ingredients while introducing you to essential elements of Portuguese cuisine and regional specialties. After your market visit, enjoy a short walk to their nearby cooking studio, where your hands-on Lisbon cooking class begins. The duration of your market tour, cooking class and meal is about 3 hours.

Notes:
1. Ana and Carina can accommodate a vegetarian diet if informed in advance.
2. The menu typically includes fish, meat, and seafood, so please share any dietary restrictions or allergies with Ana and Carina at least 72 hours in advance.
3. Please note that Ana and Carina’s cooking studio welcomes children aged 8 and above, and they are charged the same price as adults. As the website may default to charging 50% for children, please add children as adults when booking this experience.
