Kodi and Meena are truly the most wonderful people. They welcomed us in to their extraordinary home - housed in a building that's more than 400 years old - and extended us every hospitality. They showed us round the remarkable property; took us to the fish and vegetable market just outside of Galle; showed us how to cook beautiful, traditional Sri Lankan food over a two-hour period; and then served up this delicious food over lunch. My son and I remain overwhelmed with the experience. Hugely recommend to anyone who is interested in Galle's rich history or in Sri Lanka's amazing food or who simply want to meet fabulous people in the heart of the Fort town.

Bandu was absolutely friendly, warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. His home is spacious, well kept, neat and tidy with modern furniture and house plants. There's a stunning view from the living room. You could see the green marshlands and the Colombo skyline. Our favourite part of the experience was tasting the mushroom and tomato dish he prepared. It was absolutely delicious, with salty, and caramelized flavours, both in one. We also loved learning how to cook Sri Lankan chicken curry with him. Together, we feasted on rice and curry and watalappan (a custard-like, Sri Lankan dessert which he prepared the night before for us).

One of the best home cook food experience we had in all our tours around the world. Both Nanditha & Upal, her husband, are wonderful hosts and to add finger licking food. Must try for anyone interested in Eating Crabs! Highly recommend!!

We had a wonderful time together with Buddhima who met us at our hotel in Kandy and took us to her private house. We started out with tea and traditional Sri Lankan sweats/snacks. Then we started preparing curries for dinner under Buddhima’s instructions and we learned a lot about traditional spices and food in general. Finally we sat down together and enjoyed a delicious dinner

As I said above, we were expecting a more private experience. We just feel a little misled about how it was portrayed on the site/email. We were given the incorrect time. We planned on a 2'“3 hour experience on our last day in Sri Lanka, and it ended up taking up 4.5 hours.

A unique opportunity to meet & cook with an amazing woman. Her life story is inspiring & she warmly welcomes you into her home. We learnt so much about the food and how to cook amazing Sri Lanken/ Malay dishes. A wonderful experience & the number of dishes we cooked and ate was phenomenal. We can away with recipes, knowledge, spices & look forward to continuing to cook & eat her recipes at home.
