Good experience with the cooking class. The host has good patience, even though the event was delayed due to the navigation of the place not being according to the website description (not the host's fault, but the company's). When you try to contact the host via email (according to the website), it can take several minutes of delay. Here it is good that before the event you have contacted the host. Finally Sakura-san came to pick me up, which was very kind. Similarly on the way home she went with me to the nearest train station to lead me to the right destination. As a result, all the dishes were made according to the descriptions. But there were two more dishes that were (bonus) not planned. But I am happy to try them. In summary, it was a good experience, despite the complications. But the host is helpful and helped me. In addition to the authentic food (which some claim to be simple), there were dishes that were prepared with love. The host gave good advice on Japanese food and typical food related to Sapporo and Hokkaido. //Minh

Hello! I’m a traveler from South Korea. I had always wanted to learn authentic Japanese home cooking, so I searched for cooking classes in Sapporo. I found this class through an AI recommendation, and after reading so many wonderful reviews, I decided to book it. What really stood out to me was that, unlike other classes, this one included a visit to a local market, which made the experience even more special. The instructor spoke both Japanese and English very well, so communication was smooth and comfortable throughout the entire experience. At the market, she recommended products that locals actually use. If I had visited the market on my own as a tourist, I probably would have ended up buying a few disappointing souvenirs. Instead, every single item she recommended turned out to be amazing! I brought them back to Korea, shared them with my family and friends, and even recreated the dishes at home. Everything was a huge success! Before the class, she asked what I wanted to learn, so I was able to cook the exact Japanese dishes I had hoped to make. I also learned a lot about Japanese seasonings, cooking utensils, and ingredients she uses in her own kitchen. Those little tips made the class even more valuable. Most importantly, she was incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming. We had great conversations throughout the class, and she explained every step so clearly that I felt completely comfortable from beginning to end. I originally thought this was simply a small-group class, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it’s actually one private booking per session. That made the experience even more personal and enjoyable. This time I joined by myself, but next time I’d love to come back with my friends or family. I truly think many Korean travelers would love this class if they knew about it. Hopefully I’ll have the chance to visit again before it becomes even more popular! Perfect class. I took the class with my 24 year old daughter. I’m a home cook who loves Japanese cuisine. Shiori is a professional chef with lots of teaching experience. She genuinely wants you to be successful and has adapted her recipes with tricks that make it easier while maintaining top notch taste and presentation. My daughter and I can’t wait to try her home style sushi approach at a family gathering we’re having in a week. Aside from the lesson, she prepared a once in a lifetime meal fit for an emperor. It was quite unbelievable, everything was so good and plentiful that I don’t think I’ll have to eat for a week. Ingredients were top rate, which is a basic requirement for a top chef. On top of all this, she was so kind that she made us feel like close family/friends even sharing some family history and showing Japanese cultural “treasures” that my daughter and I showed interest in. She has significant international experience and her English is great. As a foodie and serious home chef, I have been to many cooking classes around the world and if I could, I would rate this a perfect experience. Learn and enjoy with confidence, if you are lucky enough to be able to book Shiori’s class!
