I enjoy cooking at home and when I travel, learning about the the regional dishes are always a priority. This cooking class was fantastic! Though he is well traveled and has worked in many kitchens, Luca clearly loves the foods of his home town the best. Learning about the local farmer's markets and being invited into a home to enjoy a beautifully prepared meal is a bucket list item checked off. And in case you are wondering: yes, Sicilians have their own (small) espresso machines at home and drink it with dessert!! If you have a chance to attend, I highly recommend doing it! Luca also offers private chef services, which is another bucket list item that will have to wait for another trip!

We had an incredible afternoon and evening with Chef Francesco, full of learning and unforgettable moments. He speaks excellent English, which made the whole experience so much easier and more enjoyable. When we arrived, he welcomed us with a delicious starter of bruschetta, cheeses, wine, and water. This was the perfect moment to get to know each other and learn more about how the class would unfold. From there, we began cooking with a stunning view of the sea, which made the experience even more special. We finished the evening on the terrace, enjoying our homemade pasta alla Norma and ricotta-and-pistachio cannelloni — absolutely delicious! This class is truly and wholeheartedly recommended. Francesco is not only a talented chef but also a wonderful person who shared fascinating stories about Sicilian traditions and the beautiful house where the class takes place — a place full of history and charm in itself. Don’t hesitate to take this class, it’s an unforgettable experience ❤️

Cooking with Mariella and her husband Gino was the highlight of our trip to Sicily! We started with a wonderful market tour where they introduced us to their favorite vendors and local specialties. Then we went to their beautiful home for a hands-on cooking class filled with laughter, great music, and the aromas of amazing Sicilian food. We cooked in their lovely kitchen and on their balcony with incredible views of Catania. Mariella easily accommodated my allium allergy without losing any flavor and shared great tips we can use at home. It was perfect for both of us—one experienced cook and one new to cooking—and we both learned so much. Mariella and Gino are warm, knowledgeable, and make you feel instantly at home. Truly a must-do in Sicily!
